1627 BAILEY RD, East Aurora NY 24kw SOLAR PROJECT, CHANGING FROM CURRENT ROOF MOUNTED PERMIT TO GROUND MOUNTED APPLICATION We've carefully chosen the proposed ground-mounted solar array location out of both environmental responsibility and practical efficiency. Our property has significant wetland considerations, and after careful assessment, this site is the one location that ensures we stay fully compliant with DEC wetland setbacks, protecting these natural areas. Originally, we considered placing the array on the house roof. However, we realized this would not only diminish the aesthetics of the house but also drastically reduce effectiveness. This past winter, we experienced prolonged snow cover—if the panels had been roof-mounted, they’d have been buried and ineffective for months, severely limiting energy production. By placing the array on the ground to the right side of the property, we ensure optimal sun angles, easier snow maintenance, and year-round efficiency in meeting our electricity needs. Additionally, we've planted 250 evergreen privet along the frontage, forming a natural 10-foot green screen that will shield both the property and array from public view. In summary, this location balances aesthetics, energy performance, and environmental stewardship—ensuring we meet the needs of both our household and the local regulations.

RESOLUTION APPROVING CODE COMMITTEE OM TOWN OF AURORA 575 Oakwood Avenue East Aurora, New York 14052 WHEREAS, a code committee has been in place in the Town of Aurora since 2009, meeting to address code changes as needed. WHEREAS the code committee presently consists of the Code Enforcement Officer, Assistant Code Enforcement Office, two members representing the Planning and Conservation Board, two members representing the Zoning Board of Appeals, and Two representatives from the Town Board. WHEREAS the Town of Aurora has adopted the 2025 Comprehensive Plan, the code committee now meets twice each month. WHEREAS the code committee is the first step in making changes to our code. The suggested changes are presented in draft form to the Town Board who ask the Planning and Conservation Board for their comments and review. If the Planning and Conservation Board feel it’s necessary, a public hearing may be scheduled. WHEREAS the draft is then sent to the Town Board, at which time changes and/or modifications are made and the Town Attorney prepares a Local Law. WHEREAS a public hearing is then set for public input. After the public hearing, a State Environmental Quality Review is completed, and a resolution is drawn up. The Local Law is then adopted or denied in a public meeting. NOW, THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED the code committee currently anticipates the need to meet twice each month for a period of time and then anticipates meeting monthly during the Comprehensive Plan code updates. East Aurora / Town of Aurora Police Department Interdepartmental Correspondence Training: e Allofficers were assigned 31 daily training bulletins through Lexipol. ¢ All officers were assigned a monthly training on Community Policing: “Improving Police Efficacy and Building Trust." e All officers were assigned SoToxa oral fluid narcotic detection device training. The SoToxa is a handheld, portable analyzer by Abbott designed for rapid oral fluid (saliva) drug screening at the roadside or in workplaces. It provides lab-quality, printed results in approximately 5 minutes, detecting six common drug classes— including THC, cocaine, and methamphetamine—with high sensitivity. We do not currently possess a SoToxa device, however the Governor’s Traffic safety Board has given one to Orchard Park and West Seneca Police Departments for trial use and they are willing to allow us use of their respective devices when needed. e Public safety Dispatchers completed two sections of the Dispatcher Pro training program. * SRO's Schultz and Longboat attended a two-day school safety symposium. e Officer Pierce attended Standardized Field Sobriety Training and radar/lidar certification training at the Erie County Police Academy. Arrests / Investigations ¢ There were three DWI arrests made in the jurisdiction in the month of March. One Felony and two misdemeanor. e Our agency continues to receive fraud and larceny complaints targeting the elderly. Most of these incidents prey on the elderly that are able to be convinced to withdraw from bank accounts and transfer large amounts of money to perpetrators outside of the area. Another form of this type of fraud is convincing a person to withdraw large amounts of money from bank accounts and then purchase gift cards from big box stores and call the

We will be working on educating our seniors through events at the senior center and through social media, so our residents are less likely to fall victim of these types of fraudulent activity. Miscellaneous e On Saturday May 2" there will be a “Coffee with a Cop” event in the morning at McDonalds. (exact time TBD) I was approached by the owner and manager of the East Aurora McDonalds about McDonalds doing more community outreach. The hope is that this event is just the start of more events that can occur for the community and that other businesses will become interested in the same type of police-community networking. | invite all board members to stop by this event. e The DPW staff continues to work on painting various rooms and hallways of the police department. e Police Officer Alex Pierce started with our department on March 16th after serving the City of Rochester for seven years. Alex is originally from East Aurora and is happy to be home and is doing well getting acclimated. e Lieutenant Brendon O’Hara is healing up nicely from his surgery after an on-duty injury in the fall. He is expected to be released back to full duty during the last month of April. ¢ Overall, March was a relatively quiet month for the police department in terms of call volume.
