11) THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED BY COUNCILMEMBER BENNETT, WHO

Page 7
16th Town Board Meeting 08/19/2026 Page 7
maintenance is needed. Replacing assets while they have a higher value has a significant reduction in yearly
expenditures; and
WHEREAS, taking advantage of the State Bid Award allows the Town to recover a significant portion of
the vehicle’s remaining market value and reinvest those funds into a replacement vehicle. Delaying this
would expose the Town to additional depreciation, maintenance costs, and reduce the trade-in value as the
vehicle accumulates additional mileage and age; and
WHEREAS, trading this vehicle while it still holds significant resale value (current trade-in value quoted at
$18,000 from Delacy Ford) allows us to apply that value toward the purchase of a new model, therefore
offsetting a portion of the acquisition cost. The vehicle will also be put out to auction, which will likely
increase the trade value; and
WHEREAS, regularly replacing older vehicles in favor of new ones helps the Town decrease long-term
maintenance and repair costs, improve vehicle reliability, and reduce the risk of unexpected budget impacts
from major breakdowns, ensuring safe and responsible fiscal decisions. This proactive approach will allow
the Town to greater offset the $42,500 budgeted cost to ensure the best use of taxpayer money.
NOW, THEREFORE be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby declare the 2021 F150 Super cab (VIN#
1FTEX1CB4MFB30130) as a surplus vehicle and authorize the sale of this vehicle or trade in, whichever is
of higher value, as recommended by the Town Engineer.
The resolution was unanimously adopted.
New Business #8 Authorize the purchase of a new 2027 Ford F150 XL Super cab 4x4 pickup for the
Engineering Department.
12) THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED BY COUNCILMEMBER BENNETT, WHO
MOVED ITS ADOPTION, SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER MARIANO, TO WIT:
WHEREAS, replacing the last two-wheel drive vehicle in the Engineering Department’s fleet with four-
wheel drive will ensure safe travel during critical weather and on construction sites where terrain is
challenging; and
WHEREAS, this has become a significant safety concern as the last two-wheel drive vehicle has left
employees stuck in severe weather before, which has required additional man hours to help get them to safety;
and
WHEREAS, the new vehicle will be purchased using the NY OGS 23166 State Contract, with the set
discount valid through 2028. This vehicle replacement was included in the Engineering Department’s 2026
budget. The 2027 pricing was honored.
NOW, THEREFORE be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby authorize the purchase of a 2027 F150 4x4 XL Super cab
pickup, under state bid contract group 40440-23166 for $42,509.00, estimated $24,509.00 maximum after
