Special Meeting June 10, 2026 Page 1 Thousand Dollars ($75,000), representing approximately 23 percent of the total project cost; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department anticipates providing the required local share through eligible in-kind services and volunteer contributions associated with a community-build installation effort, and additional labor provided by Town staff and community volunteers; and WHEREAS, the Town Board recognizes the value of these local contributions as evidence of strong community support and stewardship for the project and is committed to documenting such contributions in accordance with NY PLAYS program requirements; and WHEREAS, should local funding be necessary to satisfy the required local share, the Town Board authorizes the use of available Parks and Recreation Department Reserve Funds for that purpose; and WHEREAS, the Town desires to authorize its grant consultants, J. O'Connell and Associates, to prepare and submit the NY PLAYS application and any associated documents necessary to secure funding for the project. NOW, THEREFORE, Be It RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Orchard Park hereby authorizes the submission of an application to the DASNY NY PLAYS Grant Program for funding assistance for the Burmon Road Recreation Area Playground Replacement Project; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Board commits to providing a local share of $75,000, through the use of eligible volunteer labor and in-kind services furnished by the Parks and Recreation Department and community volunteers, with Parks and Recreation Department Reserve Funds available, if necessary, to ensure fulfillment of the Town's financial commitment. RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes J. O'Connell and Associates to act on behalf of the Town in preparing and submitting the grant application and to provide such additional information and documentation as may be required by DASNY in connection with the application process; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Supervisor and such other Town officials as may be necessary are hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all documents necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution and to fulfill the requirements of the NY PLAYS Grant Program.
