Kstablishing Julia Mombrea as the Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Grants Liaison WHEREAS, the Town of Orchard Park recognizes the importance of promoting equal opportunity in access to public funds, contracts, and economic development resources for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs); and WHEREAS, Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises are generally defined as for-profit businesses that are at least 51 percent owned and operated by one or more individuals who are members of a minority group and/or women; and WHEREAS, many state and federal grant programs require applicants and grantees to document outreach to MWBE firms, track participation levels, and file periodic compliance reports as a condition of funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Board finds it in the best interest of the Town to designate a single point of contact to coordinate MWBE related activities in connection with grants, including outreach, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring; and be it further RESOLVED, this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
