Village of Blasdell Meeting Minutes January 21, 2026 The regular Meeting of the Board of Trustee was called to order at 4:32pm by Mayor Hefner. PRESENT: Mayor Hefner, Trustee Murphy, Trustee Castiglia, Trustee Fox, Trustee Drzal ABSENT: None Resolved by Trustee Fox, seconded by Trustee Murphy to approve the Minutes from the December 17, 2025 Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees. • Carried 5-0 FINANCE Resolved by Trustee Murphy, seconded by Trustee Drzal to pay the bills as audited. • Carried 5-0 DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS Village Administrator Clerk Treasurer – Draft Budget MAYORS REPORT No report TRUSTEES REPORTS TRUSTEE MURPHY Trustee Murphy reported that the fire department responded to 49 incidents in the Village of Blasdell, and 4 members attended 1 training. Trustee Murphy asked everyone to be mindful driving with the bad weather here. TRUSTEE FOX Trustee Fox stated that the weather is changing to cold and nasty, so please stay safe walking and driving. TRUSTEE CASTIGLIA Trustee Castiglia reported that wands for court officer are needed. Grants for Metal Detectors are available in August. Grants are up to $20,000. Second officer will be needed. Trustee Castiglia thanked the DPW for keeping the streets clear. Weak point, rounding corners on the streets. Suggested, take the 550 to clean corners. TRUSTEE DRZAL Trustee Drzal stated that the Amvets in Blasdell is having a Chili Cook Off on February 28, 2026. They are opened to the public on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4-9pm. The Tehan Post, Wed to Sat. 2-9pm Kitchen open to the public. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR None NEW BUSINESS Resolved by Trustee Murphy, seconded by Trustee Fox to authorize a budget workshop on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 4:30 pm. • Carried 5 -0 Resolved by Trustee Fox, seconded by Trustee Murphy to authorize the Village Administrator Clerk Treasurer to publish a Legal Notice regarding the Tentative Budget Hearing for the Village of Blasdell 2026-2027 Fiscal Year, to take place Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 6:00 pm. • Carried 5-0 Resolved by Trustee Drzal, seconded by Trustee Murphy to authorize the Village Administrator Clerk Treasurer to publish a Legal Notice regarding the Adoption of the 2026-2027 Village of Blasdell Budget on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 4:15 pm. • Carried 5-0 Resolved by Trustee Fox, seconded by Trustee Drzal to adopt the following meeting schedule for April 2026, Monday, April 6, 2026 Village of Blasdell Reorganization Meeting at 4:30 pm followed by a Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees. • Carried 5-0 Resolved by Trustee Fox, seconded by Trustee Drzal to approve the 2025 Certified Volunteer Firefighter Service Award Program Points Listing as presented. • Carried 5-0 Resolved by Trustee Fox, seconded by Trustee Murphy to accept the resignation of Leonard D. Zaccagnino as Prosecutor for the Village of Blasdell effective January 31, 2026. • Carried 5-0 Resolved by Trustee Drzal, seconded by Trustee Murphy to appoint John Nash to the position of Prosecutor of the Village of Blasdell effective February 1, 2026, term to expire the first Monday in April 2026. • Carried 5-0 ADJOURN Regularly moved, seconded, and carried to adjourn at 4:58 pm.
