WEST SENECA HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMISSION - MEETING MINUTES WEST SENECA COMMUNITY CENTER - 1300 UNION ROAD, WEST SENECA, NY 14224 NEW BUSINESS • CLG Grant 2026 Round Chairperson Lang reported the Certified Local Government (CLG) grant window is open for 2026 and he has prepared an application. He conferred with Councilmember Robertson on August 5, 2026, and requested a Town cash match of $6,500 for the grant. Councilmember Robertson indicated support and will seek Town Board allocation. Councilmember Robertson anticipates approval by August 24, 2026. Chairperson Lang noted the grant submission requires indication that matching funds are approved/allocated, not physically disbursed, by the submission deadline of September 15, 2026. He will insert final figures, obtain Town signature from the Supervisor’s office, and submit it prior to the deadline. Chairperson Lang scheduled the mandatory CLG coordination call with SHPO for Monday, August 10, 2026 with the CLG Coordinator and the regional reviewer. Chairperson Lang will coordinate with the Permits Department staff to identify address lists and historic permit records establishing alteration lineages for prospective district parcels. • Individual Historic Nominations Chairperson Lang proposed advancing research on 1540 Seneca Creek Road (Mayer Brothers Cider Mill) as a priority individual local landmark nomination. He will prepare a draft outreach letter to Mayer Brothers for Commission review. Mr. Ball and Ms. D’Amico will inquire at the museum regarding historic files and photographs. Chairperson Lang will seek Sanborn maps and other documentary sources to establish site evolution. ISSUES OF THE PUBLIC None received. COMMUNICATIONS BY BOARD MEMBERS None.
