TO: Honorable Town Board FROM: Jason Foote, Town Engineer DATE: September 14, 2026 SUBJECT: Town Engineer re Plant 6 Pump Station Building Repairs Requested Action: On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, bids were opened for the Plant 6 Sanitary Pump Station Building Repairs project. The project generally includes concrete and masonry repairs, along with window and door replacements at the Plant 6 Pump Station facility. A total of one (1) bid was received from Best Restoration Services, Inc., in the amount of $735,000. The bid amount is significantly higher than anticipated and exceeds the available project budget. Additionally, several of the itemized unit prices included in the bid were substantially higher than anticipated based on typical industry pricing for similar work. Given that only one (1) bid was received, the overall bid amount substantially exceeds the available budget, and several individual bid items appear significantly higher than anticipated, the Engineering Department recommends that the Town Board reject the bid submitted by Best Restoration Services, Inc. for the Plant 6 Sanitary Pump Station Building Repairs project. Following rejection of the bid, the Engineering Department will reevaluate the project priorities and scope of work, identify opportunities to reduce project costs, and revise the bid documents to better align the project with the available budget.
