Town of Boston, NY – Highway Fund 25% 25% of your Town Tax Covers: • Salaries of Highway Workers & Employee Benefits • Costs of salt and sand for winter plowing • Costs of stone & asphalt in summer • Costs to repair roads within the town • Costs to purchase & repair town owned trucks & equipment 2025 Planned repairs/upgrades: • Various road repairs/paving • $205,500 towards new equipment • 2024 – Requested an International CV515 plow truck w/ dump box, plow, & wing • A similar truck was purchased in 2023 – as it has not yet been received to see if they liked it or not, HWY used the 2024 budget to purchase a utility truck for $64,853, originally planned as the 2025 purchased & delayed this 2024 purchase into 2025. Equipment funds not used in 2024 will roll to fund balance and be re-appropriated towards this purchase in 2025. 73
