REGULAR BOARD MEETING TOWN HALL MAY 20, 2026 7:30 P.M. The Boston Memorial Day service, Monday, May 25th. The emergency services processional, rather than a traditional parade, consisting of a State Trooper vehicle followed by EMS and the three fire companies, and Sheriff vehicle. From Faith United Church of Christ to the Boston Town Park, with the program beginning at 1:15 PM under the Lion's shelter. The Boston Town Band will perform, and Town Historian Frank Gamel will deliver the remarks. The public was encouraged to attend. Supervisor Keding reported on the following: Boston State Road will see significant activity this season. Erie County Highway has formally notified the town that Boston State Road from Zimmerman Road to Mill Street will be reduced to single-lane traffic beginning June 15th , with an anticipated completion date of July 3rd or until complete. The entire affected area will be milled and resurfaced. Noted the upcoming Trooper Brinkerhoff Run and cautioned residents to travel carefully on Boston State Road. Sheriff's Office has notified the town that the drug and syringe drop boxes located at Town Hall will be removed from the program. He expressed disappointment with the decision, noting that the boxes are used regularly and are emptied weekly. The nearest alternative drop locations will be in Colden and Orchard Park. Regarding a noise complaint on Sunset Lane, Sheriff's deputies addressed the matter both last year and this year. Addressed social media discussion regarding two new white gooseneck-style attachments installed on poles at the intersection of Boston State Road, Herman Hill Road, and Zimmerman Road, as well as concrete pads in the area. Clarified that these are traffic counters and crossing infrastructure installed and managed by the New York State Department of Transportation, and that the town has no authority or control over that intersection. Seeking additional specifics from NYSDOT and will share them with the public once available. A motion was made by Supervisor Keding and was seconded by Councilwoman Selby to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Supervisor Keding Yes Councilman Penders Yes Councilwoman Selby Yes Councilman Stephan Yes four (4) Yes Carried Open Meetings Law, Public Officers Law, Article 7, §106.
