V. FARMS AFFECTED BY ACTION The attached table lists farms and/or agricultural parcels that are within Erie County Agricultural District No. 15 and within the proposed project area. VI. AGRICULTURAL IMPACT STATEMENT A. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The proposed action involves installing approximately 32,000 linear feet (LF) of 8‑inch, 10‑inch, and 12‑inch water main along Boston State Road (NYS 391/CR 227), Back Creek Road (CR 438), Old Orchard Drive, Boston Colden Road (CR 222), Lango Road, and Cole Road (CR 442). These improvements address deteriorating infrastructure and extend service to additional properties within the Town. Approximately 9,600 LF of additional water main will also require lateral restrictions along Boston Colden Road, Lango Road, and Cole Road. The majority of the site consists of lawn areas, woodlands, and fields. However, portions of the project route include stream crossings, driveways, and roads. Erie County Agricultural District No. 15 encompasses the Towns of Boston, North Collins, Concord, Sardinia, and Holland. Properties within the district that border the project corridor are shown in Figure No. 2. Approximately 2.36 acres of farmland will be affected through permanent easements, primarily located within or immediately adjacent to existing public and private rights‑of‑way. No additional conversion of active farmland is expected beyond these easement areas. All construction will be completed in accordance with local regulations and meet applicable standards. B. Description of Agricultural Setting Figure No. 2 Agricultural Districts Erie County shows the parcels located within Erie County Agricultural District No. 15 that would be affected by the proposed project. Zoning within the proposed project area varies widely throughout the Town of Boston – Water District 1 and 2 but consists mostly of residential properties and agricultural land. C. Assessment of Short-Term and Long-Term Agricultural Impacts There are no adverse agricultural effects anticipated as a result of the proposed action. This action is not intended to promote growth of residential, commercial, or industrial users within the Agricultural Districts. Any short-term impacts as a result of the proposed action will be due to construction-related activities. The majority of the water main construction will occur in existing road rights-of-way or new permeant easements, and in accordance with local regulations as well as applicable AWWA standards.
