Wednesday, May 6 & Thursday, May 7, 2026 West Webster Fire Hall 1051 Gravel Road Webster, NY 14580 Based on survey feedback collected over the past several years, this two-day agenda features speakers and topics that past attendees specifically requested. Dr. Elizabeth Berliner is returning from Cornell University to discuss Sanitation and Euthanasia Decisions. Wellness/PTSD are hot topics that frequently come up when animal welfare professionals get together. Dr. Jay A. Supnick, Board Certified in Police and Public Safety Psychology, has developed a workshop called “Caring Without Breaking” specifically for us! Barb Hollands and Dr. Supnick have been collaborating to tailor this specifically for animal control officers, as it previously did not exist. We are thrilled to launch this animal welfare professional program on at our conference. Writing Tickets & Citations are a necessary part of the job. How do you write a ticket? Local law versus state law? What are the pieces? What is a deposition? Accusatory? Sufficient on its face? Is your current paperwork sufficient to withstand court of law? Confused? You won’t be after this presentation by the Town of Ogden Animal Control. Bring your local dog control law and prepare to ask questions. There will also be an interactive component to this session. Walk away certified in First Aid/Pet CPR! Safety Team Solutions is coming to certify attendees. Their course offers a comprehensive introduction to the care and well-being of cats and dogs. Participants will learn how to assess vital signs and identify behaviors that may indicate potential health concerns. The curriculum also includes essential skills such as administering first aid for injuries and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The training content for this conference will be specifically tailored to provide animal control officers with practical knowledge and tools relevant to the field. Of course, there will be the latest on Article 7 updates.
