We kicked off the season with the opening of the Community Pool on May 30. Prior to opening, our lifeguards participated in orientation, where they reviewed policies and procedures, practiced rescue techniques, and worked through common scenarios they may encounter during swim lessons, open swim, and lap swim. Orientation for our day camps and other summer programs will begin in late June. Our day camps at Hamlin Park and J.P. Nicely Park are nearly full! Throughout the summer, Hamlin Park campers will have the opportunity to visit J.P. Nicely Park for our popular "Mega- Camp" days. These special events feature friendly competitions, visits from ecologists, creek walks, mobile laser tag, and a variety of other engaging activities. Mega-Camp continues to be a favorite experience for our campers each summer. July 3 is quickly approaching, and preparations are well underway. We are finalizing event staffing and the parade lineup, while our participating nonprofits, bands, and activities are all in place. We look forward to another wonderful community celebration and can't wait to welcome everyone for a fun-filled day! Submitted by: Chris Musshafen, Director of Recreation and Aquatics
