Re: NYSRPS Conference

I am requesting approval for Chris Musshafen and Meaghan Tent to attend one day of the New
York State Recreation and Park Society (NYSRPS) Annual Conference on Wednesday,
November 4, 2026.

The NYSRPS Annual Conference brings together parks and recreation professionals, community
leaders, and partners from across New York State. The conference provides opportunities to
learn about current trends, programs, and best practices in parks and recreation, as well as to
connect with other professionals and share ideas.

Attending the conference would provide both of us with valuable education and resources that
can be brought back to the Town of Aurora Recreation Department. The sessions and networking
opportunities can help us identify new programming ideas, improve current operations, and
continue providing quality recreation opportunities for Aurora residents.

The cost to attend for one day is $375 per person, for a total of $750 for both attendees. The
one-day registration includes:

e One full day of conference education
  e Breakfast and lunch
e One networking social event on November 4

I believe this is a worthwhile professional development opportunity for both the Recreation
Department and the Town of Aurora. I respectfully request approval for Chris Musshafen and
Meaghan Tent to attend the November 4 conference day at a total cost of $750.
