TO: Honorable Town Board FROM: Megan Wnek, Director of Finance DATE: March 9, 2026 SUBJECT: Director of Finance re 2026 Budget Amendment - Engineering Department Requested Action: Kindly authorize the following 2026 budget amendment for the use of revenue from the New York State Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund earned by the Engineering Department RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, the Town of West Seneca Engineering Department was awarded a grant by the New York State Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund, the proceeds of which are to be used towards the electronic records management; and WHEREAS, the payment is to be received during the 2026 fiscal year in the amount of $65,185.00 and will be recognized as revenue in the General Fund as State Aid – Records Management Grant, account 01000100.43060: NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby authorize the 2026 budget amendment to increase State Aid – Records Management Grant, account 01000100.43060 by $65,185.00 for the receipt of grant proceeds. Engineering – Records Management Expense, account 01144000.50442 will also be increased by $65,185.00 for electronic records management expenditures.
