Village of Gowanda Public Hearing Minutes January 6, 2026 The Village of Gowanda Rental Registry public hearing was called to order by Mayor Nephew at 6:00 PM. Present: Mayor Mark Nephew, Trustee Peter Sisti, Trustee Wanda Koch, Trustee Carol Sheibley, Trustee Paul Zimmermann (via phone) Employees: Clerk Danielle Wagner, Treasurer Traci Hopkins, Attorney Deb Chadsey, Code Jason Pickering & Geroge Poff Public Present: Jack Broyles, Randy & Jackie Wing The purpose of this public hearing is the Village would like to establisha rental registry help to identify rental property owners and to have contact information for those owners. The Village has seen an increase in LLC’s purchasing properties, with no owner information on the LLC. This. will.also assist with an emergency that may pop up, a water break, fire, or any other emergency. There will be a fee to register and fine for failure to register. The Village will make all attempts to ensure property owners are aware of this local law should it pass; This Rental registry is not the same as inspections-that is a separate law that, already exists. Public Comment: Jack Broyles-talked about inspections-believes this law is not necessary and isa bully tactic by the Village.
