On behalf of Local Gov 250 and the National Academy of Public Administration (the Academy), it is my great privilege to inform you that you have been selected as a 250 Public Service Champion! Local Gov 250 is a national effort led by a group of local governments and government associations to honor and elevate the role of government as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary. As part of this effort, the National Academy of Public Administration and its partners created an awards process to honor 250 public servants who have had an exceptional impact on their communities. You were nominated for this honor by the person CC’d on this email. We have attached a certificate highlighting this honor and a list of the awardees’ names and titles for you to review. Please review it IMMEDIATELY and let us know by Friday, March 9 if there are changes to how you should be listed. This information will be included in a press release that will go out on Monday (3/ 16). We ask that you please do not announce this news publicly until the Academy’s press release has gone out! Most importantly, we will be celebrating YOU and your fellow 250 Champions ata reception in Philadelphia on May 12 from 6-8 pm. The event will take place at the ICMA‘s Reimagining Government Conference at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. To learn more and register for the free event, visit our website. You do not need to register for the ICMA conference in order to attend the 250 Public Service Champions Celebration. The event is only in-person, We encourage you to bring your colleagues, friends, family, and nominators to the celebration. We will have catered food, drinks, and ample time for networking and connecting with colleagues from across the country. Those who attend in person will receive a commemorative pin. If you decide to join us, we ask that you please register by April 21! Unfortunately, we cannot offer travel stipends. Once the press release goes out on March 16, we strongly encourage you to share this news on your social media accounts and tag the National Academy of Public Administration and Local Gov 250.
