All documents received have been digitized and organized electronically for the Village’s use when the project is completed. * At the end of February 2026, the Village discovered a large quantity of existing drawings that had been in storage. The drawings were transferred to our office where MDA staff reviewed/ digitized all drawings capable of being scanned. These drawings included original 1930's treatment plant plans, original 1929 finished water storage tank plans, and plans of other assets within the water system. These drawings were of great value for this Preliminary Engineers Report and provided key information that has allowed us to better understand existing infrastructure. An extensive on-site meeting was held with water department staff and MDA staff after the large quantity of drawings were processed. During this meeting we reviewed the existing treatment plant, reviewed treatment process schematics and discussed operator’s day-to-day operations and challenges. We have gained a good understanding of the current water system and have assessed the condition of system assets. We have identified key items that are either deficient because they do not meet current standards or are simply beyond typical useful life and are considered weak points in the system, some of the major items are as follows: " 1.7MG finished water storage tank (clearwell) roof structure is in poor condition " 17MG finished water storage tank (clearwell) is 92 years old, piping configuration does not allow the tank to be bypassed and several aspects do not meet current standards « 1.7MG finished water storage tank (clearwell) in need of service but unable to be offline and serve Village at the same time * Coke aeration filter is in deplorable condition. (CCHD Sanitary Survey 2024) * Antiquated piping, appurtenances and flow metering at sources and treatment plant * Treatment plant backwash system is aged and lacks appropriate redundancy File: 25320 1of2
