Roll Call: Board Members: Geercken, Kogut, Sobaszek (excused), Stampone, Turner Administrative: Clark, Balon, Cooper, Hayes Approval of Minutes: of the Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting on April 29, 2026. Motion by Kogut; seconded by Turner to adopt minutes of the Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting on April 29, 2026 as written. Yeas: Geercken, Kogut, Stampone, Turner Carried 4-0 Communication from Zoning Board of Appeals Applicants: 1. Land Use Variance/Area Variances – 2839 South Park Avenue – Izzy Mohamed representing. Applicant is requesting a fence height variance from 6 feet to 8 feet in connection with the proposed operation of an automotive services facility, including vehicle repair, towing, and vehicle storage, within the Central Business District (CBD) Zone. Board discussion included fencing location and its impact on business activities. Motion by Kogut; seconded by Stampone to open floor to public comment. Yeas: Geercken, Kogut, Stampone, Turner Carried 4-0 Kevin Surdyke, City of Lackawanna 4th Ward Councilmember, addressed the Board about the fence location and the business activity to occur behind the property. Motion by Stampone; seconded by Kogut to close floor to public comment. Yeas: Geercken, Kogut, Stampone, Turner Carried 4-0 Motion by Stampone; seconded by Geercken to approve variance as presented.
