WALES TOWN BOARD SPECIAL MEETING February 17th, 2026 @ 7:00 PM The meeting of the Wales Town Board was held on the 17th day of September at the Wales Community Center, 12345 Big Tree Road, Wales Center, New York. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Timothy Howard at 7:00 pm EST. ROLL CALL: Supervisor Timithy Howard Councilman Donald Gallo Councilman David Newman Councilman Donald Butcher Councilwoman Brenda O’Connor present: Nina Ballo from Wendel Engineering (3) Residents names are on file. INVOCATION: led by Councilman Butcher PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: led by Councilman Newman ADOPTION OF AGENDA: MOTION # __By Councilman Butcher second by Councilman Newman approving the Agenda. Carried 5 ayes 0 noes INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None NEW BUSINESS: 1. Approval of $50,000 from reserves for Western Star plow truck budgeted $150,000. Supervisor Howard stated the plow truck replacement cycle is at six years, noting that the town currently operates three plow trucks and replaces one vehicle every six years. He stated that this 6-year cycle is longer than the replacement cycles used by surrounding towns. He reported that, since the last meeting a week ago, the price has increased by approximately $3,000 00 and he recommended that the town proceed with ordering the truck to avoid further cost escalation. Resolution for Budget Amendment – Highway Equipment – Use of Reserves 2026 WHEREAS, additional funding is required for the purchase of a Highway truck, and WHEREAS, funding is available within the Highway Fund’s capital reserve, NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorize, the amending of the 2026 adopted budget to increase Highway appropriations and utilize the Highway capital reserve in the amount of $50,000.00: Increase Appropriations: DA5130.2 Highway Fund – Machinery EQ $50,000.00 MOTION # __By Councilman Butcher second by Councilman Newman approving the Resolution amending of the 2026 adopted budget to increase Highway appropriations and utilize the Highway capital reserve in the amount of $50,000.00 ROLL CALL: Supervisor Timothy Howard aye Councilman Donald Butcher aye Councilman David Newmann aye Councilman Donald Butcher aye Councilwoman Brenda O’Connor aye Carried 5ayes 0 noes MOTION # __By Councilman Butcher second by Councilman Newman approving the Highway Superintendent to order the Western star plow truck.
