Re: Lead Agency Request - Village of East Aurora Water System Improvements Project
Location: Village-wide
Review No.: 388-M617-26

Dear Ms. Buys,

Pursuant to Article 8 of the New York Environmental Conservation Law, the County of Erie (the “County”) has
reviewed the above-referenced project (the “Project”) referred to the Department of Environment and Planning
(“DEP”) on July 7, 2026, and consents to the Village of East Aurora Village Board acting as the SEQR Lead
Agency. DEP offers the following comments:

  • The Village must refer any future actions related to this Project (i.e., variances, site plan review, special
use permit) to the County for review.
  • Erie County Department of Public Works (DPW) comments are enclosed.
  • Comments from the Erie County Department of Health (DOH), if any, will be sent separately.

This review pertains to the above-referenced SEQR Lead Agency request submitted to the Erie County
Department of Environment and Planning. This should not be considered sufficient for any County approvals. The
Village of East Aurora and/or the developer must still obtain any other permits and regulatory approvals
applicable to this Project.

Sincerely,

Briana Zuchowski
Assistant Planner
