Town Board of the Town of Hamburg July 13, 2026 Meeting 4.3. Approval of local law to add a new chapter for Unmanned aircraft take-offs and landings. WHEREAS, the Hamburg Town Code contains and specifies the local laws and ordinances of the Town of Hamburg; and WHEREAS, the Code Review Committee reviewed the provisions for a new chapter to the Code of the Town of Hamburg entitled “Unmanned aircraft take-offs and landings”, and suggested the addition for the Town Board to consider; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law, the Town Board is proposing a local law to add a new chapter entitled “Unmanned aircraft take-offs and landings” WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on July 13, 2026, for discussion and public comment concerning adoption of this proposed local law; and WHEREAS, the Town of Hamburg has determined that this proposed local law amendment is a Type II action under SEQR, and no SEQR decision is necessary; and WHEREAS, these proposed local law amendments were referred to Erie County through the 239-m referral process and received no objections; and WHEREAS, the proposed amendments are in accordance with the recommendations of the Town of Hamburg Code Review Committee. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Hamburg Town Board approves Local Law and adds a new chapter entitled “Unmanned aircraft take-offs and landings” to the Code of the Town of Hamburg ATTACHMENTS: UAS code 5-9-26.docx 5
