Town Board of the Town of Hamburg June 22, 2026 Meeting 4.2. Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company holding the Southwestern Association of Volunteer Fireman Annual Conference WHEREAS, the Southwestern Association of Volunteer Fireman holds an annual conference and elects officers for the organization for the next year; and WHEREAS, Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company member and Trustee J. M. Jewitt will be elected as the organization's President in August for the next year and this affords the opportunity to host the next Convention in 2027; and WHEREAS, the Town of Hamburg has held the distinction of hosting this conference only nine times since 1912; and WHEREAS, J. M. Jewitt has presented this information to the Hamburg Town Board and requested the support of the Town Board. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Hamburg Town Board congratulates Mr. Jewitt on his service in the community and his upcoming election; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Hamburg Town Board looks forward to welcoming Volunteer Firefighters from Companies across Erie, Cattaraugus, Chautuaqua, and Allegany counties to our town August 6-7, 2027 and anticipates an influx of visitors and patronage of our local business community; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Hamburg Town Board recognizes the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company for playing host to this noteworthy event in 2027 in our town.
