WHEREAS, during World War I and World War II, women served with distinction in vital military roles, including as members of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) and the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP); and WHEREAS, following World War II, women veterans played a critical role in the permanent integration of women into the Armed Forces, leading to expanded roles and equal recognition; and WHEREAS, women now serve openly and honorably across all branches of the Armed Forces. 6
