  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2% Aurora's Community Solar Program Doubles Enrollment
4 me Projections, Saving Thousands for Residents
The Town of Aurora’s Community Solar Program, “Aurora Solar Savings”, is on track to double its
enrollment goal since the program was launched in the summer of 2024, far exceeding the orginal
target of 160 subscribers. The Town program now boasts an enrollment of 316 households.

The 60 subscribers who signed up early during the initial phase have collectively saved over $7,000
to date and offest more that 500,000 kWh of electicity on their NYSEG bills. Based on current
performance they’re projected to save approximately $12,000 per year. Household savings vary
based on electricity usage, but most participants see consistent monthly savings once credits begin
appearing on their NYSEG bills.

Phase 2 of the campaign, launched this past March, saw a boom in enrollment! An additional 253
households have completed the application process and 89 applications are pending. This
represents the equivalent of 5.8 MW of solar energy and based on the current participant group, is
expected to translate to approximately $50,000-$70,000 in annual town-wide savings.

Aurora Solar Savings is an official Town initiative that helps residents reduce their electricity costs
through participation in state-regulated community solar programs without having to install
expensive solar panels on their roofs. This 100% no-cost campaign is part of the Town’s broader
commitment to supporting residents with practical cost-saving opportunities and advancing local
clean energy goals.

The program is open to households, organizations, churches, renters, and businesses. Savings will
vary monthly depending on the amount of sunshine, but subscribers can expect to save up to 10%
of their electricity costs over the course of a year. Qualifying low income residents can save up to
20%. Customer's NYSEG bills remain the same, except for one entry line featuring their solar savings
discount. There are no extra fees or penalties for joining- ever. Members can cancel at anytime.

The program is still open for new subscribers at powermarket.io/aurora.html or by calling (718)
285-7554. For more information residents can also go to cleangreenaurora.com.
