Town of Aurora | Town Board Meeting | July 13, 2026 Assistant Code Enforcement Officer Miga had no report Recreation Director Musshafen began by encouraging everyone to thank the special event coordinator of the 3rd of July events, Meaghan Tent. He commended her hard work and dedication leading up to and on the day of the events. Director Musshafen commented that the Day Camp program is going great and thanks to Allie Dickson, the camp director at J.P. Nicely Park. Director Musshafen then moved on to mention the Going Places Van and the fact that the Senior Center will be taking over, and dispatch responsibilities will be handed over to Erie County. He mentioned what an honor it was to have worked on the program since the day he got to the Rec. Department and that he cherishes the relationships he has formed because of it. He is confident Donna Bodekor at the Senior Center will do an excellent job with the program, as she does with everything else. Moving on to updates from the Community Pool, there were both good and bad. The bad was an acid leak that was taken care of by the local Fire Department and then subsequently a HAZMAT team. It has been completely resolved. The good was a positive annual assessment from Erie County, who were impressed, as always, with the lifeguards and staff at the pool. He gave a special shout out to lifeguard Parker Nagy who had the first and only rescue of the season; the swimmer was safe and able to return to playing in the pool soon after. Lastly, Director Musshafen invited all to the 60-Year Re-Dedication Ceremony that will take place at the Community Pool on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11 AM. Zoning Board Chair Ernst had no report but commended all organizers of the July 3rd events. Zoning Board member Simone had no report Planning Board Chairman Crow had no report Deputy Supervisor McCann moved to adjourn at 7:06 PM, seconded Action #251 Meeting by Councilmember Garvey.
