Special Meeting May 13, 2026 Page 2 WHEREAS, the Town of Orchard Park must follow New York State Law and appoint the Town Supervisor in the event of a vacancy, and WHEREAS, Supervisor Joseph Liberti is ready, willing and able to serve as Interim Police Chief. NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby appoints Supervisor Liberti to the position of Interim Police Chief effective Thursday May 14, 2026; and be it further RESOLVED, that Supervisor Liberti’s compensation will be $79.81 and hour, which is based off of the annual base salary of $166,000.00 a year ÷ 2080 hours; and be it further RESOLVED, that Supervisor Liberti will serve as Interim Police Chief until the New Chief of Police is appointed. THE MOTION WAS OFFERED BY COUNCILMEMBER MARIANO, WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION, SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER BENNETT, WITH UNANIMOUS APPROVAL, THE MOTION WAS ADOPTED. at 6:40 P.M. a motion was made by SUPERVISOR LIBERTI, to end the Special Session seconded by COUNCILMEMBER MOMBREA, with unanimous approval the Special Session was closed.
