Village of Blasdell PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES STATE ENABLING LEGISLATION April 6, 2026 The Public Hearing regarding the State Enabling Legislation held by the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:33pm by Mayor Hefner. PRESENT: Mayor Hefner, Trustee Murphy, Trustee Fox, Trustee Drzal and Trustee Castiglia NEW BUSINESS Mayor Hefner and James M. Shaw, Village Attorney explained that the Village of Blasdell is seeking State Enabling Legislation be adopted by the NYS Assembly and State Senate permitting the Village of Blasdell to merge its Fire Department within the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company’s Fire Protection District, resulting in an ultimate dissolution of the Blasdell Volunteer Fire Department.
