Holiday Lights

Over the last 30-40 years, the outlets and wiring that light the
wreaths and snowflakes during the Christmas season on the
electric poles along Boston State Road have begun to die out.
Originally, there were roughly 70 decorations.

Now if the Town is going to repair the connections, an
Attachment Permit needs be filed with NYSEG and all
connections need to be brought up to current code standards

 There are 69 poles involved:
46 are operational, 14 need repair, 9 need new installation.

These poles include the wreath/snowflake lights as well as
the silhouette lights (but excludes the six Town-owned metal poles
around the Rt 219 exit ramp where we display wreaths/snowflakes).

The Town’s Parks workers compiled a list of poles. NYSEG
reviewed and corrected the pole list based on a site visit.
