Factors Considered Regarding Raises – Employee Turnover
 • (8) New Hires in 2024 – (3) of which are already gone
 • (5) New Hires in 2023
 • 13/44 positions (General + HWY) were hired in the last 2 yrs = 29.5% of staff

 • 2 Town Hall Positions currently vacant & not advertised
 • 2 Town Hall Positions in the interviewing stage

 • Each job posting costs around $600  To get applicants we have had to start
posting to Buffalo News Job Board

As we don’t have an HR department, each posting then
requires delegation of time from other staff (primarily
Supervisor’s staff) to review resumes, schedule & hold
interviews, perform background checks or reference
checks, narrow down candidates with the Dept. Head,
  and do new hire paperwork

Multiple people have walked out of interviews due to
pay… 3 in the last 2 years were even fully appointed
before turning us down saying they couldn’t work for
that pay or made more on unemployment than what we
  offered.
