  TOWN OF AURORA SENIOR CENTER
  DIRECTOR’S REPORT
  Month of August 2026

The mission of the Town of Aurora Senior Center is to help older adults remain healthy and active through participation in recreational pursuits and to provide
leadership and advocacy to ensure the availability of leisure and recreational opportunities for seniors.
ADMINISTRATION:
I attendance our quarterly Live Well Erie meeting on August 20" at the Rural Outreach Center. Deputy County Executive, Lisa Chimera, is the co-chair and presented a
general overview of the health and wellness of our citizens. We are broken down into “networks” who deliver our progress in our areas. Our Older Adult Network
focuses mainly on transportation and how we can better serve the population.
On August14th we had our annual Fire Inspection. An emergency light was replaced but everything else passed.
The center assumed the Going Places Van services as of August 4th as most everyone is aware of. We are adapting to the additional responsibilities and changing a few
things. Our drivers now use a tablet for pick ups and dropoffs. The wheelchair lift has taken some time to learn, and the drivers continue to receive instruction as
needed.
