TOWN OF AURORA 575 OAKWOOD AVENUE, EAST AURORA, NY 14052 BUILDING DEPARTMENT (716) 652-7591 MEMO TO: Historical Preservation Commission FROM: Richard Miga, Assistant Code Enforcement Officer DATE: 7/22/26 The Building Department has reviewed and received a demolition and/or substantial modification application for 158 West Fillmore by the owner and the architect based on a building permit application of an addition and covered roof on the rear of the dwelling. The scope of this application meets the requirements of 112-3(1) based on the following criteria: Existing Structure: 1063.8 sq. ft. per survey. 50% threshold per VEA 112-3(1): 531.9 sq. ft. Aggregate area of demolition/ substantial modification: 822 sq. ft. (addition and covered roof) Village Code section 112-3 requires that any demolition activities and/or proposed substantial modifications that meet the applicable thresholds therein be referred to the Historical Preservation Commission for their review and recommendation before the Village Board review. Village Code section 112-5 requires the Historical Preservation Commission to provide a written recommendation to the Village Board on the exterior architectural design, scale, and impact of character of the existing structure and surrounding neighborhood.
