applicable to employees of the Village not subject to the policy adopted by Resolution 252-95 or

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Gowanda hereby adopts the Village of Gowanda Drug

DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING POLICY
PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to establish the Village of Gowanda policy
governing drug and alcohol testing for employees not otherwise subject
to state or federal drug and alcohol testing programs or subject to drug
and alcohol testing pursuant to the terms of a union contract.

As an employer, the Village of Gowanda maintains a strong commitment
to provide a safe work environment for its employees and the public they
serve. This policy is based upon the states practice and policy prohibiting
the use of alcohol and drugs on the job or prior to reporting to work. The
policy is consistent with the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act of 1989
and the Cattaraugus County Drug Free Workplace Policy of 1989. It is the
intent of this policy to assure compliance with Federal and State law and
regulations regarding drug and alcohol testing of employees.
