VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE The following is a list of examples of violence in the workplace: ¢ Causing physical injury or threatening to cause injury to another * Making threatening remarks inappropriate in the workplace e Aggressive/hostile or harassing behavior that creates a reasonable fear of injury to another ¢ Intentionally damaging employer property or property of another employee ¢ Possession of a weapon while on-company property or on company business * Committing acts motivated by, or related to harassment or domestic violence e Discussing weapons in an inappropriate manner, or bringing them to work e Displaying overt signs of extreme stress, resentment, hostility, or anger Making threatening, hostile or harassing remarks e Sudden or significant changes in behavior that causes you to fear for your safety If any of the above behavior is observed by a village employee itis to be brought to the attention of the employee’s supervisor or the Village Clerk in an emergency situation employees are to notify the Village Police Department or call 911.
