  Hi Traci!
  | hope all is well. The Department of Transportation is doing a project in your area, and a portion of
your property will be directly impacted. The project is to restore the existing pavement, repair
drainage structure and install missing sidewalk and curb so thatit is ADA-compliant.

In the packet you have received in the mail, there is a fact acquisition sheet, an informational
packet on how New York State acquires land, and the appropriation map.

  | am here to act as a liaison between you, the property owner, and the state. We are acquiring the
property for the benefit of the public and it is my job to explain all of your rights and act as a
negotiator. You will be justly compensated to the highest approved amount based on a fair market
value appraisal which goes through a series of reviews.

For your specific Map 17 Parcel 32, it is being acquired in FEE. This means that New York State
will acquire the full bundle of rights for the small acquisition area and will become state property.
For Map 18 Parcel 33, it is being acquired as a Temporary Easement (TE). TE means the State
will have a temporary right to the property in the acquisition area which allows construction to
access but will end as soon as the work is completed. The purpose for both of the acquisitions is
  to repair the curb ramp.

Below are the next steps in the process:
  1. We will be visiting in July to inspect the acquisition area and take note of what is there for the
appraisal. The appraiser, Natalie Bailey, and our supervisors will be present. If you or the
engineer would like to join us, | have a few dates and times available:
  1. July 6" : 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pfh.July 7" : 9:00am, 10:00am
  2. Offer by Mail
1, After the approved appraisal has gone through a series of reviews, you will be receiving
an offer package via mail. | will be contacting you again to confirm you received the
offer. The offer will include the just compensation amount, and an Agreement of
Advance Payment which allows you to submit a claim within the 3 year statute of
limitations, which begins with the notice of appropriation. Within about a month of your
receipt of the offer, I'll be going to the County Clerk to vest the map.
  3. Vesting
1, When | visit the County Clerk, | will file the appropriation map and notice of
appropriation which signifies the transfer of ownership into the name of the People of
  the State of New York.
  4. The DOT will select a contractor on or about 3/25/2027 and construction will begin Spring
  2027.

I do have a few questions to ask in regard to the property:

  1. Are there any tenants?
