Future Maintenance Activities (Targeted Six Year cyclic timing)
• The review, consultation, planning, and communication procedures described in
Phase 2 shall apply to all future non-emergency vegetation management activities
conducted within the Village. Further, NYSEG commits to the following:
• Assigning a Vegetation Management Representative to pre-plan and oversee
all trimming activities.
• Documenting and reviewing the vegetation management plan with the Village
Designated Representative, including periodic field reviews of proposed work prior
to trimming activities.
• Scheduling specific tree work in accordance with best practices (e.g.,
trimming oak trees in the fall to prevent oak wilt).
Scope of Trimming
A NYSEG Vegetation Management Representative will pre-plan all trimming to meet
NYSEG’s specifications, namely maintaining a maximum clearance of up to 10 feet on
either side of conductors, 10 feet below, and 15 feet above. These distances may be
exceeded only when reasonably necessary to preserve system reliability or permit proper
arboricultural cuts and following consultation with, and approval by, the Village Designated
Representative. NYSEG’s Vegetation Management team will perform the necessary
trimming to finalize GoNetSpeed connections concurrently with the normal tree
maintenance.
NYSEG acknowledges that in cases where these specifications cannot be met—due to tree
structure, maintaining the health of the tree, the proximity of the tree to conductors, or
other factors—NYSEG will evaluate and determine the need for increased maintenance
cycles.
NYSEG acknowledges that the Village is entering into this Agreement in lieu of pursuing
additional local regulation concerning vegetation management practices covered by this
Agreement. During the term of this Agreement, and so long as NYSEG materially complies
with its obligations hereunder, the Village shall not pursue legislation establishing trimming
specifications inconsistent with this Agreement
