Safety:
Based on information from the department heads, police windows, and the DPW roof are the highest
priority because of safety concerns. We are happy to see that the Village board is treating them as a
high priority, as both are in process. The Capital Committee believes that the fire department radios are
needed for safety, but we need to see the outcome of the County Radio plan before purchasing new
radios that may not go with that system.

Hamlin Park: The Capital Committee is aware that the Village is already working on Hamlin Park. The
Village cannot take on added debt at this time to complete this project, but it has, however, been
working on completing small projects one at a time as funding becomes available. The Committee
believes that the Master plan should be updated once the current projects in process are completed.
This will allow for ranking of the remaining projects in next year’s plan. The Capital Committee is aware
that the Hamlin Park Committee is working on Master Plan updates and recommendations for park
improvements.

Future Projects: The Capital Committee believes the sidewalks should be evaluated to see where they
should be added and how the Village feels about adding sidewalks and setting area projects to keep a
walkable community and quality of life in the Village. That said, Equipment, buildings and water, and
road infrastructure are seen as a higher priority for our residents.
