Town of Hamburg Planning Board Minutes May 6, 2026 Mr. Rogers stated that on the use variance application it was stated that it would be a rescue facility and a cat café. The Planning Board has the ability to set site plan conditions that specify that if this should change, they would have to come back to the Planning Board. The Planning Board requested that the applicant come in person and answer questions regarding the cat café, as when they were before the Board before, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding it. A public hearing was scheduled for the June 3, 2026 Planning Board meeting. EDF Power Solutions Inc.- Requesting Site Plan and Special Use Permit Approval of a proposal to construct a 2.5 MW Tier 3 solar project on a 17-acre parcel to be located south of East Pleasant Avenue (SBL #: 182.14-2-4.11) The project is tabled indefinitely. OTHER BUSINESS Chair Gronachan stated that in regard to when the Planning Board has other committees come and speak, i.e. fire departments, CAB, traffic safety, they present their reports at the same time as the Planning Department and Engineering Department. Recently, Chair Gronachan was asked about the boards giving their reports during the public hearings and she did not feel that was correct. Her reason for this is because it takes away from the public and the fact that a public hearing is for the public and the board to ask additional questions. She asked if anyone had any thoughts on this. Member Clark agreed with Chair Gronachan. He stated members of those boards can come to a public hearing and speak as a member of the public, but not necessarily speaking for the board. Member Chmura agreed that due to the fact that the reports are different in nature from a public comment, they should remain to be presented as they currently are. Member Chmura made a motion, seconded by Member Ryan, to adjourn the meeting. Carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM. Respectfully submitted, August Geraci, Secretary 14
