He is looking for site plan approval for the project and the setting of a public hearing for May 5, 2026, on behalf of the Erie County Agricultural Society. Mr. Hutter explained that the project is to propose a new building for Slade Park which is located in the middle of the Fairgrounds. This area currently contains the Fireman’s Building, New York State Police Building, the rappelling tower, a marketplace building, the Grange Building, and the Historical Building. Most of the buildings are used all year long with the exception of the Fireman’s Building and the Historical Building. The Fairgrounds are proposing to construct a new building that will replace some of the existing structures. They are looking to build a 32,850 sq-ft facility that will help with large events such as Plantasia but also be used for events that do not need a building as large as the Event Center (70,000 sq-ft). 3
