Town Board of the Town of Hamburg August 24, 2026 Meeting 4.1. Chapter 265 Amendments Scheduling of Public Hearing Resolution WHEREAS, the Hamburg Town Code contains and specifies the local laws and ordinances of the Town of Hamburg; and WHEREAS, the Town of Hamburg received a recommendation from the Erie County Department of Public Works for speed limits specific to a speed study requested from the Town for Pleasant Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Planning Department has reviewed the speed limit regulations of Chapter 265 and has sent these suggested revisions for the Town Board to begin the adoption process; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law, the Town Board is proposing to enact a local law as follows: Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Hamburg, New York, that the Hamburg Town Board amends the Hamburg Town Code as follows (full copies attached): Amend Chapter 265 (Vehicles and Traffic), by amending § 265-1, entitled “Speed limits and highways designated”. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Hamburg Town Board hereby entertains this proposed local law amendment and authorizes the referral of this proposed law amendment to Erie County, and sets a public hearing for September 14th, 2026, at 6 pm in the Court Room of Hamburg Town Hall.
