Town of Aurora | Work Session | April 21, 2026

4) Door Security System Upgrade:

The Town’s IT Specialist, Nick Fodero was present and spoke with the board about
upgrading the doors at town hall and the security system that is used to lock and unlock them.
The current software that is used is at End of Life and the company, Honeywell, no longer services
it. Mr. Fodero has been receiving quotes from different companies, and his goal is to find a new
system that can use as much of the existing equipment as possible, as well as meet the current
and possible future needs of the Town.

5) Highway – Equipment/Materials presentation:

Highway Superintendent David Gunner presented his 10-year equipment plan. The board
discussed the allocations of funds for new equipment, including a tri-axle dump truck, a grapple
truck, and plowing equipment. Superintendent Gunner explained the effects that supply chain
issues have caused when ordering this new equipment, but the grants that the town has applied
for may come to fruition earlier than expected. The rising cost of materials was also mentioned
and how it may affect summer projects in the coming months.

6) Town of Aurora Website:

In a memo to the board, current Webmaster Robert Goller addressed the need for
American Disability Act (ADA) Accessibility changes on the website that need to be made by
April 2027 for new federal accessibility requirements. He expressed that he would be unable to
take on the expanded duties that would be required with these new guidelines and
recommended the possibility of appointing someone else to the role. It was noted that both Town
Clerk Jeanne Viger and Councilmember Wrazen were interested in the position.

7) CodeRed Discussion:

Dan Dytchkowskyj and Mark Hartley were present to represent the Emergency
Management team and discuss the CodeRed program the town currently has in place. The
board, as well as Dan, Mark, and Superintendent Gunner discussed their dissatisfaction with the
current system and how recent events were relayed to the public. It was suggested that a meeting
and possibly a committee be set up to discuss exactly what is needed/wanted in an emergency
broadcast program for the town and then shopping around for a new system.

Supervisor Snyder concluded the meeting at 8:25 PM.

Stephanie L. Meyer, Deputy Town Clerk
