REGULAR BOARD MEETING TOWN HALL JUNE 17, 2026 7:30 P.M. Councilman Stephan Yes five (5) Yes Carried Reports and Presentations: Highway Superintendent Telaak reported on the following: Expressed appreciation to the Board for approving Daniel Novoa's appointment, he is expected to be a strong addition to the department. The fuel tank system installation has been completed. Existing personnel and vehicles previously registered in the old system are ready to use the new system; however, any new trucks or personnel will need to be set up in person with staff member Jordan on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Over the past few weeks, the highway crew oil and stoned approximately eight miles of roads, with favorable results. He emphasized the importance of ongoing road maintenance, without surface treatment roads deteriorate rapidly due to road salt, moisture, and the declining quality of asphalt. He observed that Boston State Road, paved approximately twelve years ago in 2014, was milled this week in preparation for repaving, without continued maintenance the same outcome can be expected in another twelve years. Millings obtained from the Boston State Road project would be directed toward improving the parking lot area near the football field. Scott in the Parks department would like to make the parking lot better. Councilwoman Selby reported on the following: Extended Father's Day wishes to all fathers in the community and encouraged residents to attend the Lions Club chicken barbecue on Father's Day. She also offered congratulations to Shane Quinlan, husband of Sandy Quinlan, on his retirement after more than 30 years of service to the Hamburg Central School District. Councilman Penders reported on the following: Echoed Father's Day sentiments and no additional report items for the month. Councilman Stephan reported on the following: Working to establish contact with residents regarding property easements in order to address a drainage issue in Town, noting that cooperation from property owners will be essential to moving that effort forward. He also encouraged residents to visit the local library and take advantage of its programming and resources.
