Zaba currently serves as the Assistant Deputy Superintendent for the Uniformed Force of the New York State Police. Lt. Colonel Zaba has over 24 years of service with the State Police and over 30 years in law enforcement having served as a patrolman with Cobleskill Police Department and as an Environmental Conservation Officer with NYS DEC. Lt. Colonel Zaba has served as an operator with the Special Operations Response Team (SORT), Uniform Sergeant, Station Commander, BCI Lieutenant, Uniform Zone Commander, Aviation Detail Commander, Special Operations Detail Commander, and Staff Inspector. In his current position, Lt. Colonel Zaba oversees all the uniform operations in the state, the Office of Emergency Management, Special Operations, Aviation, and Division Traffic. He also oversees numerous committees within the New York State Police, and is a member of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police 15
