The Elected Official’s final salary cannot exceed the amount listed in the public notice, unless increased via a separate local law subject to public referendum. Here is a link to a Comptroller’s Opinion that specifically addresses your two questions: https: .osc.ny. gov/legal-opinions/opinion-2006-5 From: Charles Snyder <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, December 30, 2025 11:21 AM To: Brigid M. Maloney <[email protected]> Ce: Kathleen Moffat <[email protected]> Subject: DCO stipend Good morning Brigid, As you saw in the last meeting, the Board approved providing dog control to Sardinia and Holland. Dave is requesting an increase in his existing dog control stipend, A38510.102, of $5,000.00. This increase is not in the budget, how do we increase an elected official’s stipend? If you'd like to go through this in person, let me know when is best for you. Thank you, Chuck Charles D, Snyder Town Supervisor 575 Oakwood Avenue East Aurora, NY 14052 (716)652-7590
