Parks. Recreation, and Cultural Assets
How Satisfied Are You with the Quality of Parks and Recreational Facilities in Aurora and What
Type of Recreational Facilities Does the Town Need More of?
When it comes to satisfaction with the quality of the Town’s parks and recreational facilities, 77% of
respondents were satisfied or very satisfied, while only 8% were dissatisfied. Still there are several
types of recreational facilities and assets that respondents think the Town needs more of. 67% said
that the Town needs more trails and bike paths; 54% said that they’d like to see more nature reserves;
and receiving nearly identical support was the need for community centers (23%), playgrounds (21%),
and outdoor fitness areas (21%). Within the 101 written responses, most people think there are enough
facilities and playgrounds, they just need to be better maintained and more inclusive, while others
think the Town should expand pools and splash pad options, and the number of pickleball courts.
Comparing Town residents’ responses to village and non-resident responses, more village and non-
residents (75%) think the town needs more trails compared to town residents (64%)
