One stakeholder wants to see Aurora have a community/recreation center to consolidate uses and
reduce costs for maintenance of services and facilities.

Parks & Recreational Facilities
How would you describe your overall satisfaction with the current parks and recreation facilities
in Aurora?
Most stakeholders agreed that the parks were well maintained but that some needed upgrades like
the community pool and adding bicycle facilities. One said that parks should contain all tennis courts
instead of pickleball courts to avoid resident complaints, and another offered that the soccer club has
a great field set up at Knox Farm.

How accessible do you find Aurora’s parks and recreational spaces for all residents, including
children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities?
Stakeholders say that accessibility is satisfactory for a town of this size, but they can’t speak from a
disabled perspective. Another stakeholder offered that improvements can always be made to make
parks more accessible.

Do you feel that Aurora’s parks and recreational areas are well-maintained? What specific areas, if
any, could use better maintenance?
Stakeholders agreed that the parks are well maintained but that some of them need updates, such as
Warren Drive Park and West Falls Park.

What types of community events or recreational programming would you like to see offered in
Aurora’s parks and public spaces?
Two stakeholders said that there is already an engaged community, and they couldn’t think of
anything to add to it, while another said that bicycle facilities and related programming would be nice.

Are there any specific issues or opportunities in Aurora that you feel we haven’t covered today as
they relate to Parks & Recreational Facilities but should be included in the comprehensive plan?
Stakeholders offered three responses:

  - No- facilities for existing population is adequate
  - Lack affordable venues in the Town for meeting spaces for groups/forums
  - Knox soccer area should be included as a Town asset with an objective of seeking
  ownership from the state

Transportation Systems
How would you rate the overall quality of roads and street infrastructure in Aurora? Are there
specific areas that need improvement?
There is agreement that the conditions are good, but some roadside vegetation could be used for
maintenance.

What is your experience with traffic flow and safety in Aurora’s school zones or near other high-
traffic public areas, such as parks and community centers?
No difficulty with traffic flow or safety.

How safe do you feel walking or biking in Aurora, especially in areas with higher traffic? What
infrastructure improvements could make these activities safer?
Each stakeholder offered a much different take on whether or not they felt safe:

  - I don’t walk on the roads much because there are so many parks to enjoy.
