Fixtures are organized into two occupancy groups operating in non-overlapping time windows (Section 5). Load
values are public-use figures per Table E103.3(2).
Group A — Daytime occupancy (incl. brewery operations)
Fixture (public) WSFU ea. Qty Subtotal WSFU
 Water closet, flush tank 5 2 10
 Lavatory 2 2 4
Kitchen / break sink (offset by brewery fill) 4 1 4
 Group A total 18 WSFU

Group B — Evening occupancy
Fixture (public) WSFU ea. Qty Subtotal WSFU
 Water closet, flush tank 5 2 10
 Lavatory 2 2 4
 Service / mop sink 3 1 3
 Group B total 17 WSFU
An exterior hose bibb serves maintenance use only, operated outside occupied restroom peaks; it is non-coincident
with the interior peak and not additive. There is no simultaneous irrigation demand.

5. Demand Analysis — Non-Coincident Use
Fixture units are converted to a probable peak demand via Hunter's curve, Table E103.3(3), for a flush-tank system.
Demand basis Total WSFU Peak demand
 Design — non-coincident, governing group (Group A) 18 18.8 gpm

Basis of the non-coincident demand. Group A (daytime, including brewery operations) and Group B (evening)
operate in separate, non-overlapping time windows. Simultaneous use of both groups is not possible: the facility
does not brew during events, so an evening event cannot coincide with daytime brewery / kitchen demand. The
service therefore never carries the two groups' combined load — the peak instantaneous demand is that of the
single larger group, Group A at 18 WSFU → 18.8 gpm, not the arithmetic sum. Within Group A, the ~45-minute
brewery fill occurs while the kitchen is offline and directly offsets the kitchen demand (Section 4), so it is not
additive. This non-coincident basis is applied in addition to the simultaneity probability already embedded in
Hunter's curve.

6. Service Capacity — Velocity Check
Velocity governs the 1" service and is independent of available pressure: V = 0.4085 × Q ÷ d², d = 1.025 in.
Demand basis Flow Velocity in 1" service
 Design — non-coincident 18.8 gpm 7.31 ft/s — WITHIN 8 ft/s
  ✓
 Simultaneous A + B (precluded — reference) 24.9 gpm 9.68 ft/s — over 8 ft/s
At the design (non-coincident) demand the service operates at 7.31 ft/s — 91% of its velocity ceiling, within limits.
The simultaneous condition, precluded by the operating configuration, is shown for reference only.

7. Pressure Balance & Residual Pressure
Per IPC Appendix E, source-to-building losses at the 18.8 gpm design demand are subtracted from available
pressure to confirm adequate residual pressure remains.
 Component psi Running
Available min. daily pressure at main 67.0 67.0
