EXPERIENCE Village of Alfred Water System Improvements GRANT FUNDED Location: Alfred, NY Client: Town of Alfred Completion Date: 2025 The Village of Alfred water system is complex for a small municipal system and includes two well houses, three booster pump stations, three storage tanks or reservoirs, and five pressure zones. Many components of the distribution system were nearing the end of their service lives and required repairs, upgrades, or removal from service. Although the Village had maintained all components of the distribution system, portions of water main within the system had approached 60 years since their installation, and the well house/pump station buildings were not in suitable condition for extended future use. In addition, water storage tank #3, originally constructed in 1903, had approached 120 years of service. The capital improvements included the replacement of 13,000 LF of transmission main from the well houses to Belmont Road, improvements to well houses #1 and #2, improvements to the booster pump stations, replacement of 8,000 LF of Water Main in the Pine Hill area, replacement of the water storage tank(s), and upgrades to the meters for Alfred University with associated pipe replacement. 31 Page 101 of 301
