Paige was responsible for the horizontal directional
drilling (HDD) design of approximately 650 LF of 16-
inch HDPE finished water main to cross the Mahoning
Creek and a NYSDOT-owned bridge. A critical
component of the HDD is the limited space for staging
and drilling operations. One side of the bridge was a
highly populated residential neighbourhood, and the
other side of the bridge was steep road embankments.
