68 Town of Aurora Comprehensive Plan 68

 Plan Overview

This station included a board addressing
some common questions regarding the plan
as well as a schedule of the plan’s progress,
indicating what work has been completed
leading up the workshop and what is planned
to occur throughout the rest of the planning
 process.

 Vision Statement

At this station, attendees were presented
with the plan’s draft vision statement and
asked to provide feedback on what they liked,
what they disliked, and what was missing.
Feedback gathered from this station was used
to craft the final vision statement.

 SWOT Analysis

At this station, attendees were asked to
complete a SWOT analysis which asks
participants to identify what they believe
to be the Town’s strengths, weaknesses,
 opportunities, and threats. Understanding
 residents’ perceptions of all these
components helped to better align the plan’s
 recommendations to specific issues and
 opportunities perceived by the community.

 Community Profile Findings & Community
 Feedback

At this station, attendees were presented
with key findings and maps from each of
the section of the Community Profile. These
sections include: Land Use & Zoning, Housing
 & Neighborhoods, Recreational, Historical
& Cultural Assets, Agricultural & Natural
 Resources, Transportation Systems, and
Public & Municipal Services. Each section had
a board with leading questions that attendees
were asked to respond to in order to further
understand their priorities and vision for the
 future.

 Mapping Exercise

At this final station, attendees were presented
with two maps. The first map asked attendees
to locate where their favorite place in Aurora
is and explain why. The second map asked
attendees to locate areas in Aurora that they
think need improvement and explain why.
This information was very helpful in identifying
 shared viewpoints and potentially overlooked
areas in the Town for future investment.
