Resolution for Radio Antenna’s for the Police Department WHEREAS, the Police Department continues to experience radio communication issues that impact operations, officer safety, and overall reliability; and WHEREAS, Gilbane Turner, the contractor for the construction of the new Highmark Stadium, has purchased microwave links, two repeaters, and an antenna to enhance communications in the stadium area, thereby significantly reducing the Town’s cost for this project; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the addition of two (2) radio antenna sites—resulting in a total of four (4) sites, including the existing monopole and the new stadium site—will substantially improve radio coverage and communication capabilities throughout the Town; and WHEREAS, Saia Communications has submitted a proposal for the purchase and installation of the necessary equipment and services for these improvements at an estimated cost of $60,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the purchase and installation of radio communications equipment and related services from Saia Communications for two (2) additional antenna sites at a total estimated cost of $60,000.00.
